Learning in early childhood should not only be based on what the teacher feels the child should be learning but also what intrigues the child. 

This book is so special to me because my mother read it to me when I was younger.  In this book the fish is reluctant to share his shiny scales with others.  Eventually he decides to share his scales and realizes that rather than keeping them for himself he can bless others and make them feel special too.
