Grandma Gladys
My grandmother (mother's mom) is one of those people that you wish you could multiply. She mild mannered, polite, sweet, strong, hard working, motivated, a good listener and most of all loving. She is the second child of 13. She is a matriarchal figure in my family. Ever since I was a child I knew how special she and important she was to our family. No matter how many times a week my brother and I saw her we were ALWAYS excited to see her! I look up to her because she sacrificed so much of her life for her family. She did not go to college so she could help her parents with expenses and with her younger brothers and sisters. Because of this sacrifice her younger siblings were able to pursue their dreams. Another reason I look up to her is because she is also a spiritual leader for my immediate family. My grandma instilled in me to always try my best, always trust in the Lord and to always speak with a loving heart (sometimes very difficult!).
In the summer, on school breaks and on the weekends my brother and I spent so much time with my grandparents. My grandma's impact on my life has been great and if I'm half the woman she is one day, I'll be proud.
My Mother =0)
As I've grown into the woman I am now, my mother and I have become closer. I see our relationship as two people growing in life together. I see her make some mistakes and she sees me make many mistakes. But I will always have respect for the way my mama raised me. I always go to my mother whether it be for a good hug, to talk out my frustrations or to gossip. But she is even more than that. We rely on each other for love and support. We show love and care to each other with phone calls at random times, hugs and kisses are a big deal and we never leave without an I Love You. My mother not only showed me I was special but she Told me I am special.
Daddy
I am a Daddy's little girl. My father is an inspiring man. His first thought is always to help or to lend some good advice. He has come along way from his childhood with drive and the grace of God. My father has made many sacrifices for this family. The love he has for us has driven the decisions he has made in his life. I bonded most with my father during my teenage years when we would drive me to my softball tournaments each weekend. We would get up at the crack of dawn and drive all over the tri-state area. He could have been doing many other things but he chose to take the time to teach me the game and support what I loved to do. He has so much patience with me and my brother despite the fact that we make some crazy decisions and seem to always be in a bind. My father is an extremely caring, respectable and strong man.
